The third annual Mines and Money conference held in Hong Kong this week was the biggest gathering for the event in the region. The conference registered over 700 delegates, which was an increase of 65% on the previous year. Hong Kong, which aims to be seen as a player for international funds for the mining and natural resources sector, received a boost from keynote speaker Robert Friedland of Ivanhoe Mines, who confirmed at the event that “Hong Kong will become one of the largest mining finance markets in the world”.
