Event Marketing Executive - London, UK

We are looking for an Event Marketing Executive to join our specialist team.  Reporting to the Event Marketing Manager, The successful candidate will be expected to take on a high degree of ownership, autonomy and responsibility. International travel may be required.

Overview
Aspermont has recently launched a new events division leveraging its prime publishing brands. First published in 1835, Mining Journal has been the preeminent publishing title for the global mining finance sector. As Aspermont successfully launched its Mines and Money event series over 13 years ago from within Mining Journal, it now looks to build a more multifaceted offering under the flagship brand itself. This is an extremely exciting opportunity to work with the existing high calibre Mining Journal team in developing the next extension of this great industry icon.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with the Event team whilst liaising with support teams in London & Australia to deliver on the Events strategy
  • Be responsible for tactical delivery and execution of campaigns across all applicable marketing channels with significant for responsibility for email marketing and social media (Twitter / LinkedIn)
  • Execute the marketing strategy for events across Australia, UK & America's, initially for year one there will be four events (locations to be confirmed); year two growth will include multi-regions for the same events
  • Support the Event Marketing Manager database build and selections, identifying media partners, briefing and managing design, copywriting, print, direct mail, and digital marketing activity
  • Contribute researched/qualified prospects for database build
  • Work with other marketing managers and Editorial team members to develop an integrated content marketing approach
  • Incorporate customer insights into delivery ongoing promotional campaigns
  • Negotiate and execute marketing opportunities with external media partners , associations and other third party websites relevant to the mining supply chain
  • Using web analytics software, e.g. Google Analytics, to monitor performance of event 
    websites and make recommendations for improvement
  • Administrative support for the event marketing function where necessary

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Currently performing Events Marketing Executive role.
  • 2+ year's event marketing experience.
  • Exceptionally organised with attention to detail.
  • Able to work to deadlines and under pressure.
  • Hands-on experience and comprehensive understanding of digital marketing channels.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel  / Word / Powerpoint)
  • Have the ability to work autonomously using common sense and initiative.
  • Experience marketing to C-suite and B2B audiences.
  • Deep understanding of the latest trends in events and digital marketing.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Email marketing/automation experience.
  • Confident in managing and segmenting data.
  • Prior experience in publishing and/or mining is desirable.

Subscriptions & Events Delegate Sales Executive - Perth, AUS

We are looking for an experienced Delegates and Subscriptions Sales professional who can take responsibility for achieving sales targets across our subscriptions and events businesses.

  • Maximise revenues through sales of advertising, marketing services and event sponsorships to clients in the mining sector
  • Responsible for lead generation, new business development, and account management in close association with other members of the global sales teams
  • Manage the execution of sales processes, the application of company systems and the reporting of forecasts and revenues to the group

Researcher - London, UK

We are looking for a Research Analyst to join our Mining Journal Research & Intelligence department (MJI) to provide operational support as well as research expertise and assistance across Aspermont's mining research products and projects.

MJI is a discrete research business unit running in parallel with the globally-recognised Mining Journal digital and print information service. The MJI team has developed several annual reports centred around the most relevant discussion points for the mining sector.

You will be producing surveys using survey monkey (or similar), web and phone-based company research, data entry and to analyse and aggregate results for analysis copy and data presentation. You will provide support to the Department Head in creating these reports.  

Projects you will be working on include the existing annual Australian Mining Monthly research schedule, MJI annual reports, bespoke research and proposed new products such as the Mining Database.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 2 years' experience as a journalist or researcher
  • Excellent command of written and verbal English
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Attention to detail
  • Ideally have a journalism or applicable degree
  • Ideally have some resources industry experience

This role will suit someone who is keen to develop their skills to take the lead on project work.
