Senior Conference Producer - London, UK

ABOUT ASPERMONT

A leading specialist global publisher for professionals within the mining industry is looking for a Conference Producer to join their specialist team.
As the leading media services provider in the mining and resources industry, the company delivers high value, premium subscription-based content through digital, print, conferencing and events channels. This is an extremely exciting opportunity to work with the existing high calibre publishing team in developing the next extension of this great industry icon.
The company are renowned for the seniority of their audiences and quality of their publications and this is a great opportunity to deal directly with both c-suite executives and industry experts from international institutions. The successful candidate will be expected to take on a high degree of ownership, autonomy and responsibility for the production and project management of new launches.
Over the next 18 months the events business will cover regions including Europe, US and Australasia, therefore international travel is a prerequisite.

YOUR ROLE

The individual will be responsible for researching and developing global conference programmes tailored to the global mining industry. Responsibilities include:

  • Researching the market to understand key trends and topics
  • Identifying and building relationships with industry leading executives conducting
  • telephone interviews and face-to-face meetings
  • Planning and implementing the focus of each conference ensuring they are commercially viable
  • Attracting and securing leading key industry speakers
  • Researching competitor events, highlighting strengths and weaknesses
  • Building the identity and promote each event across social media
  • Working seamlessly with Marketing, Sales and Operations to provide the best pre-event and onsite experience possible

At events:

  • Onsite management and ownership for the running order, schedule and agenda of the conference
  • Collate feedback from those attending the event to gain any recommendations or ideas for future events
  • Ensure excellent onsite experiences for our attendees

We have an opportunity for a sales professional with media sales experience based in London to work within our mining portfolio team.

YOUR ROLE: Account Manager
REPORTING TO: Global Sales Director

Reporting to the Global Sales Director, the succesful candidate will be responsible for achieving quarterly sales targets for our Global media and events products.

You will be representing our primary mining products, selling digital, data, media and content solutions to senior marketing professionals based across EMEA. This will involve understanding our client's challenges, their marketing needs, target audience and KPI's in order to offer standard and custom solutions utilizing our platforms. Working with an assigned account list, you will be responsible for identifying multiple influencers and buyers within those accounts and presenting and selling our core products and services to them.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a proven ability to ask open questions and adopt a consultative sales approach. An excellent knowledge of digital sales is required, ideally backed with an understanding of data and lead generation is desirable for this role.

You will be part of an exciting phase of the business where Digital transformation and Industry 4.0 are driving change and our clients are becoming more specific in their media requirements.

THE ROLE:

We are looking for a Sales Executive who will develop business from a pre-supplied list of Mining companies. The Mining companies are typically referred to as "Junior" who are looking to secure investment from institutional investors for their projects. Mining Journal is the brand that provides them with that access to the investor community.

The role of Sales executive is to work with the current sales team and:

  • Establish a relationship with the key marketing and CEO points of contact within each company
  • Gain an understanding of what stage they are with the project and planned timeline when investment will be required
  • Sell our events, print, media and content solutions to the Mining companies

You will be responsible for building contacts within the US and Canadian mining sector, build intelligence on them and sell a variety of solutions.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous sales experience that would like to move into a global role to build and strengthen our commercial proposition. A can-do attitude, and a dedicated focus on business development are attributes that we are looking for.

Delegate Sales Executive - London, UK

THE ROLE:

The Delegate Sales Executive is responsible for maximising the revenue opportunities across two global portfolios of events and ensuring the quality and quantity of attendees at our conferences and achieving revenue and end-user targets as set by the company.

The role will involve reaching out to existing and new clients to find out what their priorities and challenges are and to match these with the benefits of attending the events. A part of the role will involve offering complimentary passes to certain attendee categories.

You will have an opportunity to work on the Future of Mining Global Series, with a focus on Technology, Operational Efficiency and Innovation in the industry and conferences taking place in Sydney, Denver and London; and also the events within our Mining Investment portfolio, which are the platforms for the Investment Community and Junior Mining companies at Exploration or Development stages looking to attract finance.

On occasion you may support the broader Subscription Sales Team during less busy times outside of critical event periods. Your support to the broader team is likely to focus on new business generation, focusing on download leads for our series of research reports, and working on other warm leads provided by marketing.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO THE BUSINESS WILL INCLUDE:

  • Understanding clients' challenges and matching these with the features of the conference
  • Delivering delegate revenue from both existing and new clients
  • Ensuring buy-side attendee numbers onsite as set out by the company

ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL HAVE TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

  • Excellent telephone manner and comfortable speaking to senior decision-makers
  • Quick learner; ability to grasp new concepts quickly
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office suite, specifically Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Experience of using Hubspot or a similar CRM platform
  • Excellent time management
  • High level customer service ethos
  • The ability to work in a team environment

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

  • Understanding of the industry sectors in which Aspermont Media operates
  • Good CRM maintenance skills
  • Previous Delegate Sales / Delegate Acquisition experience in a B2B environment
