ABOUT THE FINANCE FUNCTION

The Finance Department at Aspermont is integral to the company's growth and success. As a growing SME with a global footprint, the department not only handles traditional accounting functions but also provides critical insights through performance analysis, comparing actual results against budgets and forecasts. This enables the business to make data-driven decisions, optimize costs, and drive financial efficiency across the organization.

The team plays a key role in supporting strategic decision-making, managing cash flow, and ensuring compliance with the relevant in-country financial regulations, policies, and industry standards. By safeguarding the company's integrity and mitigating financial risks, the finance function helps maintain the company's financial health and long-term sustainability.

Operating as a global team with bases in London, Perth, and Manila, the Finance Department works collaboratively across regions to achieve departmental objectives, streamline processes, and ensure successful completion of key projects.

YOUR ROLE

The Assistant Accountant supports the Group Finance Manager in all aspects of financial management and accounting operations. This position will assist with financial and management account reporting, reconciliations, support accounts payable and receivable, as well as assisting in budgeting and compliance activities. The Assistant Accountant has a strong understanding of accounting principles and will contribute to maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with regulations.

YOUR KEY DUTIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Management Accounts Reporting

  • Assist in month-end closing process ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation month end management accounts.
  • Prepare and process journal entries to ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions.
  • Prepare variance analysis to budget for management accounts monthly basis.
  • Ensure regular and accurate reconciliation of the balance sheets for each of the individual entities ensuring all adjusting entries are made as required.
  • Support the Group Finance Manager in the preparation of the group management accounts.

Group Financial Reporting & Audit

  • Assist timely and accurate preparation of half year and full year consolidated financial statements ready for audit in conjunction with the Group Finance Manager./li>
  • Assist with audits by preparing necessary documents and schedules and responding to audit queries./li>
  • Enhance and maintain internal control frameworks to ensure financial integrity and minimize risk./li>
  • Assist to identify and resolve accounting and reporting issues.

Finance Operations

  • Work with AP and AR teams on issues dealing with receivables, invoices and payables.
  • Assisting to oversee banking, payroll and adhoc payment and other transactional activity.
  • Work with other team members and other departments resolving queries and provide support where required.

Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement

  • Identify, develop, and implement process improvements to streamline finance operations.
  • Standardize procedures across the group to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Leverage automation and digital tools to enhance transaction processing and reporting

In-Country Financial Compliance

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial regulations in each jurisdiction where the group operates.
  • Assist Finance Manager to ensure timely and accurate preparation in-country financial statements in compliance with local regulations
  • Assist Finance Manager to Ensure local entities meet all regulatory obligations, including tax filings, statutory reporting, and financial disclosures.
  • Assist Finance Manager to liaise with external advisors and auditors to support statutory and tax compliance.

In-Country Financial Compliance

  • Assist in preparing ad hoc reports as required.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Group Finance Manager and team as needed.
  • Support with Group Finance Manager and Group CFO as required with budgets and forecasting.
  • Take on additional accounting related task as required by the Group Finance Manager.

This role reports directly to the Group Finance Manager.

ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL HAVE TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related files or about to or recently Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent)
  • Good depth of accounting experience or a demonstrated ability to learn and take on more complex accounting responsibilities with support
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of financial reporting principles
  • Proven experience managing financial close, month end reconciliations, revenue and cost recognition principles, and statutory compliance in multinational environments
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong systems knowledge including accounting software (e.g., Xero)

For more than 30 years, GeoDrilling International (GDI) has been the trusted voice of the global drilling industry, delivering insight, analysis, and expertise across all drilling sectors.

Our digital magazine and website provide highly specialised coverage of drilling activity in mining, geothermal, groundwater, geotechnical, utilities, and construction.

For decision-makers across the drilling industry, GDI is not just news - it is the resource that informs strategy, sparks innovation, and connects a global community.

YOUR ROLE

The Editor is responsible for overseeing production of the print edition of GDI, as well as GDI website and weekly newsletter content.

The role involves writing, assigning and supervising the completion of work, editing, and proofreading.

The Editor will also manage the development of the title and work on growing its audience, as well as being responsible for keeping up with content analytics and reporting results to the wider management team each month.

As an editor in the Aspermont Mining editorial team, you will represent GeoDrilling at key industry events, as agreed with the managing editor.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Writing daily news-analysis articles and interviewing senior industry.
  • Using data and unique reporting to cover the geo-drilling industry.
  • Implement a content strategy focused on coverage of key mining themes.
  • Ensuring the required quality and quantity of content is generated to specified deadlines for online channels.
  • Representing the Aspermont Mining editorial department (and specifically the GeoDrilling title) on field trips, at press conferences and other industry events, and generating content as required.
  • Working with the Mining Group Editor and Content Director to develop and execute reader-engagement and subscriber-audience building plans and initiatives, which may include social media and other promotional activity.
  • Maintaining a sound working knowledge of the information needs of the audience and ensuring GroDrilling output meets those needs. Maintaining sound awareness of competitor products.
  • Close collaboration and coordination with sales and subscriptions teams on the monthly topics and features.

YOUR ROLE

The Business Director will report to the Chief Marketing Officer, and will be responsible for managing key client relationships, driving existing client growth, and winning new business. You will sit at the intersection of strategy, operations, and business development.

The role requires an individual who can work across multiple functions and various locations within the business, including content, customer success, sales, freelancers, creative and finance.

Your key duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the primary business lead for our clients, acting as their trusted advisor, understanding their goals, challenges, and delivering results.
  • Create and own the plans to deliver marketing programmes across multiple channels and oversee successful delivery.
  • Manage day-to-day activity across multiple accounts to ensure timely delivery of high-quality work in line with the brief, budget, agreed objectives and KPIs.
  • Manage the P&L for all client accounts, ensuring profitability, delivery quality, client satisfaction, and margin management.
  • Grow existing clients with wider scopes and lead these initiatives from proposal to delivery.
  • Generate and write compelling proposals and pitches for new clients.
  • Maintain strong client communication and governance (regular reviews, status updates, escalation management)

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in B2B agency or consultancy roles, preferably handling medium to large accounts.

ABOUT THE FUNCTION

The Events division at Aspermont is a core business unit responsible for designing and delivering a portfolio of conferences across the mining industry. The function plays a pivotal role in convening senior executives, policymakers, investors, and innovators to address key industry challenges, explore opportunities, and build commercial connections. By leveraging Aspermont's editorial expertise, market intelligence, and event management capabilities, the Events team ensures the delivery of high-calibre experiences that reinforce the company's reputation as a trusted facilitator of knowledge exchange and stakeholder engagement worldwide.

YOUR ROLE

The Sponsorship Sales Executive plays a critical role within Aspermont's Events division, driving commercial success through the acquisition and management of sponsorship partnerships across our events. This position is responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, cultivating long-term relationships with key industry stakeholders, and tailoring sponsorship solutions that align client objectives with event value propositions. Working closely with the events production and marketing teams, the Sponsorship Sales Executive is tasked with consistently meeting revenue targets and contributing to the growth and reputation of Aspermont's events business.

Your primary focus will be to generate revenue for the annual Future of Mining Conference, next held in Perth in June 2026 however there will be opportunities and an expectation to also cross sell media services to your client base. You will report to the Global Sales Director and be based in our Perth office.

Your key duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Consistently achieve and exceed individual sales targets and contribute to the wider revenue objectives of the Events division
  • Proactively identifying new opportunities to engage potential sponsors
  • Identifying new markets for expansion of our events
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with sponsors, ensuring repeat business and high levels of client satisfaction
  • Collaborate with event production, marketing, and operations teams to ensure sponsors are effectively integrated into event programs
  • Spearheading the drive to generate new revenue streams from tactical event formats such as roundtables and symposiums
