A surge in jobs growth could herald brighter times ahead for the media sector, which has given up their lead over the broader market in recent weeks because the advertising recovery has taken longer than expected to filter down to their bottom-lines. The S&P/ASX 300 Media Index has posted a loss of about 2 per cent over the past 12 months compared with a 1 per cent loss by the S&P/ASX Small Ordinaries.
