In recent months Aspermont has focussed on an upgrade at its flagship magazine Mining Journal and the sister publication, Mining Monthly. The objective is to upgrade editorial and information content, to significantly increase digital distribution and to improve the advertising and subscription models. Richard Roberts, Editor in Chief, has introduced new contributors and features to respond immediately to events and to offer informed opinions on new developments.
These improvements have been well received, with a sharp increase in subscription revenue (up 70% year on year for first 3 months). The launch of the tablet edition at the start of this calendar year has seen an increase in excess of 100% in global readership, year to date.
