ABOUT THE NEXUS FUNCTION

Nexus isn't a conventional agency.

What sets Nexus apart is what sits behind the agency. Through Aspermont, we can draw on global mining audiences, proprietary data, more than 100 journalists and analysts, trusted industry brands, events and deep industry relationships. It means our programmes start with a level of sector understanding, access and credibility that traditional agencies rarely have.

The work is unusually varied. One day you could be helping position a $50m IPO; the next, delivering a campaign that helps reshape a country's reputation. Our programmes span global businesses, technology companies, listed organisations and governments, and can bring together content, creative, research, media, ABM, events and stakeholder engagement.

Nexus is entering its next phase of growth in Australia. Based in Perth, you'll have the opportunity to work on major Australian and international briefs while being part of an expanding agency capability backed by Aspermont's global audiences, data, intelligence, editorial and events network.

YOUR ROLE:

As Senior Account Manager, you'll be the person who helps make the work happen.

You'll manage day-to-day client relationships and lead the delivery of integrated Nexus programmes, turning agreed briefs and strategy into clear plans and keeping clients, internal teams and specialist partners moving in the same direction.

You'll work directly with the Business Director and have exposure to senior clients, strategic thinking and a broad mix of disciplines, while taking ownership of excellent client service and excellent delivery. That means understanding what needs to happen, anticipating problems and making sure great work gets out of the door.

This role could suit an established Senior Account Manager or a high-performing Account Manager ready for the next step. We care more about the scale and complexity of what you've owned than a rigid number of years.

Your key duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Manage day-to-day relationships with key Nexus clients, building trust and a strong understanding of their priorities and requirements.
  • Lead the delivery of integrated campaigns and projects, turning agreed briefs and strategy into clear plans, actions and deliverables.
  • Coordinate specialists across Nexus, Aspermont and our partner network to keep work moving effectively.
  • Manage timelines, scopes, budgets, client feedback and approvals, ensuring work remains on brief, on time and on budget.
  • Maintain high standards across client service and delivery, identifying issues early and resolving or escalating them appropriately.
  • Keep clients and internal stakeholders informed with clear communication, status updates and next steps.
  • Contribute client insight and ideas to strategic and creative discussions, and identify potential opportunities for account growth.
  • Support the Business Director with proposals, pitches and new business activity where required.
  • The role reports to the Business Director and will work closely with Nexus and Aspermont colleagues across Australia and our international offices.
  • ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL HAVE TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:
  • Strong account management experience within a marketing, advertising, integrated or B2B agency environment.
  • Proven experience managing day-to-day client relationships and delivering complex, multi-channel campaigns or programmes.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams, stakeholders and deadlines.
  • Good commercial awareness, including experience managing scopes, budgets and changes to project requirements.
  • Confidence working directly with clients and coordinating internal and external specialists.
  • The ability to understand strategy and translate it into effective delivery.
  • Excellent organisational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience within mining, resources, industrial, technology or another complex B2B sector would be advantageous, but is not essential.
  • Demonstrate Aspermont Values: Collaborative, Innovative, Responsible, Agile, Brave & Enthusiastic.

WORKING AT ASPERMONT:

At the office, you'll be able to benefit from the normal WeWork perks (free barista coffee, weekly events and classes, pool and foosball tables, and inspiring working spaces).

Our full-time working hours are 37.5 hours per week. As Nexus works with clients and colleagues internationally, there may occasionally be a requirement for flexibility around meeting times, with opportunities for domestic or international travel as programmes develop.
